'Ponte Vecchio' spans the Arno River. Architect
by Taddeo Gaddi in 1345 & 1564
for bridge and shops. Construction system is bearing masonry, stone arches
and Italian Medieval Vernacular style. Inhabited urban bridge across the Arno. three great segmented arches on
massive piers, with arches above. Built in 1345 and has been occupied by jewellers' shops since 1593. The corridor above the shops is by Vasari.
