WORLD FAMOUS BUILDINGS

From Henri Ciriani-Institut Francais d'Architecture/HS Limm & JY Jeong-Migeonsa,
Parc de la Villette
30 Avenue Jean-Jaures, Paris

Architect by Bernard Tschumi in 1987-91, A 55-Hectare
urban park created on the site of the city's old slaughterhouses and livestock
market, which has grown since its inaugration to incorporate a huge science
museum, a rock music venue, an exhibition pavilion and a music center. These
large buildings are linked by covered walkways and the spaces between them are
articulated by a grid of red cuboid foiles. Each folie is different, some have
functions, others are purely sculptural. Photo by Moonsoo Kwak(#1,6,7/1992), Byunggu Yu(#3-5/1991), Yongchan Seol(#2,8/1992).
