Construction system was reinforced concrete,
Expressionist modern style. Soft-form composition, deep windows with colored

Fort Ordener/Fort de Vezelois

Built on 1883-86, at the same time and using the same plans as
Bessoncourt fort, Vézelois fort, named after General Ordener, was designed to
cover Bessoncourt & Bois-d'Oye forts and to control routes from Switzerland as
well as the railway line to Mulhouse. Just under 600 men and around 30 cannons
